Agadir beach
We stayed there for a whole
week, I coudn't avoid fotographing it many times... Agadir beach is
very nice, the sea is not so beautiful (at least to my eyes). A
striking thing, at least to a Mediterranean person like me, is the tide
size. Being on the Atlantic Ocean, the rise of the tide is almost two
meters in heigth, and the result is two different beaches, one on low
tide times, one in high tide times. When we arrived at the beach in the
morning it vas very wide, and you had quite a walk to touch the
water, while little after noon the width of the beach was about one
fourth. The rising tide is quite a view. The structure of the beach,
with its very low dunes, creates small rivers of water going inside,
small islands quicly disappearing, and this make great fun for all the
kids on the beach, running thru and splashing into the tiny rivers
coming from
the sea. On the beach you can find tourists from abroad, tourists from
other parts of Morocco and Agadir people. Access to the sea is free
(this is a great democratic civilization sign, in Italy big chunks of
beach are for private access only!!), and the private bathing
establishments are limited to a narrow strip close to the hotels. On
the Southern end of the beach, where the hotel zone is over, there are
sand dunes a few meters high which make the landscape a bit "saharian
desert" style (some imagination required). Looking northwards from the
beach, a hill is always visible with a huge inscription in
arabian characters. I can't read arabic, and any help is welcome to
know if the writing says "God, homeland, king" as someone said. If you
can confirm or deny, please drop me a
note. During the day the inscription is clearly visible (I believe
it's made with rocks, but I don't know for sure). During the night the
inscription is illuminated, and makes a nice sight from te town.
The day before leaving I had an evening "sunset shooting" session. The sky was absolutely stainless and you could see the sun crossing the horizon and plunging into the sea from the cloudless sky ... an amazing sight!

Panoramic views
You
can build panoramic views taking several photos in series and stitching
them together using specialised
software programs. The result is not bad at a first sight, but often
leaves
visible defects in the overlapping parts. Making good panoramic views
is
not an easy task, and all the following examples have quite visible
flaws, but trying to ignore them, the pictures are very evocative,
at least for us who where there ...
